The original artwork is based on Indian ink paintings of African straw-coloured fruit bats and baobab flowers, later digitally composed to create the final intricate design.

About the Artist:
Originally from Switzerland and based in London, Arlette Ess is a visual artist celebrated for her intricate pen-and-ink drawings, which create a sense of immersion and wonder by combining the beauty of Nature with the imagery of our inner worlds. Trained at Camberwell College of Arts and with experience in fashion, including work at Alexander McQueen, Arlette Ess creates compositions that combine organic textures, patterns, and cultural imagery, striking a balance between opulence and minimalism. Her work has been exhibited internationally, and she is a contributing artist to the Hermes Paris scarves collection, having won the 2020 Grand Prix du Carre.
