A hand-carved wooden AK-47 assault rifle from Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now. Colonel Kurtz's (Marlon Brando) Montagnards and the Viet Cong wielded AK-47s against American military forces in Cambodia.

Much of the movie was shot in the Philippines and production had difficulty importing real AK-47s, so the effects department led by coordinator Joe Lombardi and his company Special Effects Unlimited provided these hand-carved wooden props. This may have been fabricated on location in the Philippines. It is hand-painted two-tone to appear partly metallic with "Special Effects Unlimited" etched beneath the barrel. The rifle exhibits some nicks in the wood and flaking to the black finish from production use and age. Dimensions: 33" x 11" x 2 (84 cm x 28 cm x 5 cm)
