Frank Vitchard's (Luke Wilson) Stunt News Team Weapon Display from Adam McKay's 2004 comedy, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. In the film, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) and his news team take part in a rumble between the competing news teams of San Diego. This stunt version of Vitchard's savage and exotic weapon resembles a jagged blade circular saw attached to a table leg that has been decorated with fur. The blade has been constructed of foam and has been glued to a table leg, which has been cast from foam rubber. Just above the handle that has been wrapped in black tape is a patch of faux fur that is beige in color. The table leg has been painted brown, with a very simple wood grain that appears to be a murky green color.
This weapon comes beautifully presented in a custom built wooden display frame that includes two stills from the movie along with the film's title that has been laser cut on a mount board. This framed display also features a hinged glass cover that can be opened, allowing easy access to the props (see photos). While the weapon measures approximately 2" x 28" x 7.5" (5cm x 71cm x 19cm) the display measures 5" x 34" x 27.5 (13cm x 86cm x 70cm). The weapon remains in good condition, with slight wear to the materials from production use, and the framed display remains in excellent condition.
