Xenomorph Creature Costume Tail

Stock #68527

A xenomorph tail from one of the terrifying creature costumes used in James Cameron’s highly successful sci-fi sequel Aliens. Cast adrift for almost sixty years after the events of Alien, Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) reluctantly joins a platoon of hardened Colonial Marines in the hopes of saving the residents of a colony infested with grotesque humanoid aliens.

This tail was used to bring one of the terrifying xenomorph creatures to life in the blockbuster action film. The piece is made from poly-foam that has been moulded into a sequence of vertebrae flowing from large to small, decorated either side with a design not unlike corrugated piping, all decorated in shades of brown and forming the 'bio-machine' look Giger is so famous for.

Running the entire length of the tail is a tube that would have housed a wire cable that enabled the production to give it it's memorable chilling, snake-like movements. There are small cracks forming between the vertebrae, one of which is missing a small chunk, the result of extensive production use. However, the tail remains in otherwise good condition. An instantly recognisable piece from this iconic creature, the tail measures approximately 160cm (63”) long.
