A set of storyboards used in the production of Ridley Scott’s sci-fi horror Alien. After receiving an unidentified signal from a nearby planet, the crew of the mining vessel Nostromo are woken from hypersleep. Realising too late that the signal was a warning, the crew defy orders from security officer Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) and accidentally bring an alien life form aboard, starting a chain of events that puts all of their lives at risk.
This set of storyboard copies were used for the filming of the famous scene in which the ship’s executive officer Kane (John Hurt) dies as the “chestburster” breaks free and escapes into the confines of the ship’s cargo hold. Five pages in all, these storyboards are production copies of sketches drawn by director Ridley Scott which show the full sequence from Kane’s starting to choke through to the chestburster’s escape. The boards are broken down into four stages, marked A to D, and show various cutaways and close-ups alongside, as well as sketches of the Weyland Corp-branded dinnerware seen at the table as the crew are eating.

Showing some signs of light wear from use, the storyboards remain in very good production-used condition.
