A Xenomorph tail from Ridley Scott's sci-fi horror film Alien. The alien's tail was particularly visible when it killed Lambert (Veronica Cartwright), its tail snaking up between her legs, in what many viewers have since judged to be an implied "rape" scene.

The tail is made of an unusual cast latex material with a cork-like filler and moulded into a sequence of vertebrae, going from large to small. It is painted brown and has a biomechanical aesthetic, as imagined by artist H.R. Giger. Threaded through the entire length is a thick steel-wire cable, which would have allowed the tail to support the weight of a performer for a special effect. There are small cracks, flaking paint, and some missing chunks from use and age. The tail is no longer flexible. Dimensions: 212 cm x 18 cm x 12 cm (83.5" x 7" x 4.75")
