A prop envelope made for the production of Charles Shyer’s 2001 period drama The Affair of the Necklace.

In pre-Revolutionary France, a young aristocratic woman is left penniless by the political unrest, and she must avenge her family’s fall from grace by stealing a priceless necklace.

This prop envelope and others like it were made for the production and appear when passed under a door in one scene. The envelope is a page of text in French folded over with a ‘wax’ seal completing the look.

This item has some minor wear from production use and age, including some creasing and some minor damage to the wax seal, but despite this it remains in a very good condition.
