Large Wooden Oars

Our expert's notes

A pair of large wooden oars from the family adventure: The Adventures of Pinocchio (1996). These oars are made from wood and have a stitched brown leather handle secured with four small brass bolts. The oars still show some shiny lacquer from when they were constructed, although there are signs of obvious set wear, yet remain in very good condition. The oars were used in the production, when Pinocchio (voiced by Jonathan Taylor Thomas) is in the boat, rowing away. Various sized puppets were used for the production and in this scene it would have been quite a large model puppet as the oars measure 148cm x 11.5cm (58.2" x 4.5").
