A reference maquette of the pseudopod from James Cameron's The Abyss. In a landmark visual effects sequence, Virgil "Bud" Brigman (Ed Harris) and Dr. Lindsey Brigman (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) encountered a swirling water tentacle with a humanoid face capable of mimicking their own.

The complex liquid tentacle was created by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) using cutting-edge technology capable of creating photorealistic reflective, refractive, and morphing CGI. Maquettes for the tentacle - known externally as the pseudopod and internally at ILM as the water weenie - were used as form and lighting references for the groundbreaking creation.

This otherworldly, detailed tentacle maquette with a human face is cast from clear, colorless resin to simulate liquid. It exhibits minor discoloration, interior bubbles, and grime build-up from age. Dimensions: 10" x 8" x 12" (25.5 cm x 20.5 cm x 30.5 cm)
