An Animatronic Hero Waffle Bot used in the 2011 comedy A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas. Throughout the film, ads for the waffle-serving robot are seen as well as the actual bot given to Harold and Kumar by Neal Patrick Harris (Neal Patrick Harris). This hero WaffleBot was used to make the WaffleBot commercial that is seen in the film, and during the final scene when WaffleBot saves Harold and Kumar by scalding their captors and burning their ropes with hot syrup.
The bot features a fiberglass exterior, painted white with silver detailing in the face, and a blue and white checkered apron that features the WaffleBot logo. The red logo on the apron opens to reveal a waffle plate and syrup dispenser. The waffle plate was made to extend from the stomach when properly connected to a power source, however the bot is currently lacked its power source, keeping the waffle tray inside for now. The head features a silver lens plate that closes over the eyes. The eyes are made of plastic and would have lit up for production. The two arms are hinged at the shoulder so they can be moved up and down. Inside, there are servos and motor that supply power to the waffle plate and the head piece. There is a lid to cover the head’s opening on top, and a plate to cover the opening to the servo in the back. None of these animatronics have been tested, and we cannot confirm that they will operate.
The bot has some wear due to production use, and there is some cracking due to age. Overall, this Waffle Bot remains in good condition.
