Scene Reference: Count Olaf uses his spyglass to watch the Baudelaires do research at Justice Strauss' house in order to thwart Olaf's plans of a fake marriage to Violet during "The Bad Beginning" (S1, E1) episode.
The spyglass includes a mechanical view opening and code dials that rotate. According to The Incomplete History of Secret Organizations, "There are approximately 2,016,125 combinations, which is why learning proper decoding techniques is important." It also comes with untested integral electronics which are accessible by twisting off the eye view portion of the spylass.
