Mr. Poe drives the Baudelaire children from guardian to guardian in his green Austin A40 Somerset Car throughout the three seasons of "A Series Of Unfortunate Events" (2017-2019). Additionally, the car was used for the promotion of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee.
This restored 1954 Austin A40 Somerset features a "Transatlantic" body style with four doors and family size interior. Crests relative to the make of the car, The Austin, are prominent on both the fender and in the center wheel of the car, while a metal name plaque is featured on the side. The interior has tan vinyl seating and appears to have the original brown plastic and metal dashboard detailing, with carpeted flooring and rubber mats. The trunk is equipped with a spare tire, an Austin A.40 Models Service Manual, an Austin A.40 Parts List book, and a 4-way cross wrench. This is a left-side driving car with manual transmission. Its odometer reads "21,607" and the VIN number is GS4L844391. The license plate is not included with the vehicle.
The Austin is in overall good condition with visible signs of use from production, including minor wear and tear in the interior dashboard and carpeted flooring, and some flatness to the tires. Additionally, the wheel to the car has a slight disconnect in the plastic as shown in the close-up image. The vehicle was functional during production but has been stored non-operational since the wrap of the production. As this is a functioning vehicle, legal transfer of title will need to take place before delivery can be arranged. The vehicle is in the process of being titled in California. Transfer of the vehicle to the winner can occur once that process has been completed. Transportation and shipping quotes, including fluid drainage for international shipping, should be arranged with Prop Store prior to bidding. Dimensions: 158.5" x 63" x 62.5" (402.5 cm x 160 cm x 158.75 cm).
