Jesse Eisenberg's personal director's script from the production of his film A Real Pain, as well as the letter he received from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences commemorating his nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Eisenberg - the film's writer, director, producer, and star - utilized this "mini-script" throughout filming on location in New York and Poland, including at the filmmaker's real family home in Krasnystaw.

This lot originated from the collection of Eisenberg. A Real Pain was among the most acclaimed films of 2024, with Eisenberg receiving an Academy Award® nomination for Best Original Screenplay (which he based on his own real-world experiences) and co-star Culkin winning the Oscar® for Best Supporting Actor.

The blue draft script is watermarked throughout for Eisenberg, hand-marked and inscribed with various annotations, and signed in ink on the first page by the filmmaker. The certificate is printed on thick parchment paper, applied with the gold-color seal of The Academy, and signed on front by Eisenberg. The script exhibits bent, creased corners, and minor smudging. Dimensions: (largest) 11" x 8.5" x 0.5" (28 cm x 21.75 cm x 1.5 cm)

Proceeds from the sale of this lot benefit families impacted by the Eaton Fire.
