A light up weight used in the Stephen Spielberg movie A.I Artificial Intelligence. The film follows David (Haley Joel Osment), a highly advanced robotic boy, who hopes to become a real boy to regain the love of his human mother.
The blue versions can be clearly seen as part of the nets fired at the rogue Mechas being rounded up for the 'flesh fair', and the technology enabled the hunters to deactivate them at the same time. The net weight is made from a metal frame and has been covered in silicone. This particular version features a metal rod at one end, with a small karabiner and a flat silicone cover at the other end. The item contains LED'S inside creating a bright blue colour when turned on, and is fully functioning. A pin should be used and inserted into a hole on the bottom side to turn the net weight on. A quirky piece from the movie, the item displays some minor wear and damage to the silicone and marks on the metal frame. However, in spite of this wear, the piece remains in very good condition.
