Adam Gibson's (Arnold Schwarzenegger) helicopter remote control and a Roadrunners football helmet from Roger Spottiswoode's sci-fi action film The 6th Day. Charter pilot Gibson tested out his upgraded helicopter remote control after dropping off a group of snowboarders at the start of the film. In the foreshadowing opening sequence, American football quarterback Johnny Phoenix (Steve Bacic) suffered a near fatal injury, and despite being euthanised in the ambulance, he was later pronounced ready for the next week's game.
This remote control comprises a plastic arm cover lined with foam padding; two metal-and-rubber clasps; two rubber-and-plastic control panels, one on either side of the arm frame, which have functioning buttons; and a controller stick which swivels and has a functioning red trigger. The clasps and side control panels are glued in place and no longer open as seen on screen.
The black plastic football helmet features, Riddell® branding; a rose-tinted acrylic visor encased by a metal frame coated in yellow plastic; yellow Roadrunner decals; and leather-covered foam padding adhered to the interior with Velcro®. Also included is a grey crew fleece labelled size "L". The remote control exhibits damage from production use, including broken clasps, and the left control panel had previously snapped off. These have all since been repaired and glued in place, with remnants of glue visible. Dimensions (control): 33 cm x 21 cm x 18.5 cm (13" x 8 1/4" x 7 1/4"); (helmet): 33 cm x 23 cm x 24.5 cm (13" x 9" x 9 3/4")
Estimate: £1,500 - 3,000 Ω
