A Spartan costume from Zack Snyder’s historical fantasy 300. Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae, in which 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valour and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against the Persian enemy.
Worn by the warriors of King Leonidas, this costume features pieces labelled for multiple actors and stunt performers. The costume is comprised of a rubber stunt helmet, a red canvas cape with fibreglass Spartan clasp, a pair of urethane bracers, a leather codpiece and a pair of urethane greaves. The armour pieces are finished to replicate the look of worn, hammered bronze, with plenty of battle damage applied to the helmet, bracers and greaves. The cape has also been faded to give it a battle-worn look.

Well-used on the production, the costume’s armour components display tears from use and the helmet displays tears in the eye slit and rear lip through use during the film’s many battle sequences. However, in spite of this wear, the set remains in overall good condition. The cape is marked “Jean Sebastien Boulanger #102” and “Brian Jagersy #276”. The helmet is marked “Doug Chapman #3”. The bracers are marked “David Leich”. The greaves are marked “Max White”. The codpiece is marked “#12 Jake Swallow” and “M”.
