MGM, 1968

This rare commercial poster, created for the film's Cinerama release, was produced by Personality Posters Mfg. Co. in 1968 and features a reproduction of the artist's signature. The poster is folded and exhibits corner pinholes, general wear from folding, an edge tear, and some sporadic wear along the edges. There were pieces of cellophane tape on the back, likely used for display purposes, which have been removed. This removal caused some sporadic surface paper loss on the back, but it does not affect the front of the poster.

Stanley Kubrick's sublime sci-fi masterpiece elevated the genre from a B-movie staple previously typified by flying saucers and monsters. Dealing with deep philosophical concepts (not least the impact of artificial intelligence on human evolution) and changing the game for visual effects (under the supervision of FX master Douglas Trumbull), it remains an unforgettable cinematic experience.
