Jack Silva’s (John Krasinski) tactical gear from Michael Bay’s 2016 war film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. In this film, a squad of secret soldiers defend the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya. In the film, Jack Silva may be seen wearing tactical gear after the compound is invaded.
This gear includes a flak jacket, belt with holster, helmet, and a bag. The flak jacket is produced by Condor and contains numerous pieces of equipment such as a radio, an LED light, and numerous pockets that holds prop ammunition and a prop grenade. Attached to the radio is a throat microphone and earpiece. This flak jacket also has velcro throughout which has an “A+” blood type patch attached to the left chest.
The helmet is produced by Ops-Core. This helmet is screen matched to one that Silva wears during the film (see photos) and the inside of it features “Jack” written in sharpie. The rail on the left side of the helmet has a flexible LED light attached that still functions. The helmet has numerous velcro strips for the attachment of accessories and patches. On the left hand side of the helmet is an American flag patch and the rear features a patch that features the Punisher logo and Silva’s blood type. The right side of the helmet also has a blood type patch attached. Finally, the rear of the helmet has a battery pack that would attach to night vision goggles which are no longer present at the front of the helmet.
The belt with holster is designed to carry a sidearm and has a production label that reads “Silva 1”. The bag is produced by 5.11 and may be seen around Silva’s shoulders in the film.
