A control panel used in the production of Tom Harper’s 2015 horror-drama, The Woman In Black 2: Angel Of Death. The sequel takes place forty years on from the original haunting at Eel Marsh House. A group of children are evacuated from World War II London and ultimately awaken the house's dark, ghostly inhabitant.
This control panel would have been used in the RAF bunker at the satellite airfield when the Woman in Black (Leanne Best) sends power surges through the electronics. The panel is constructed from wood that has been painted military green. It contains various vintage light bulbs and dials for measuring temperatures, voltages, amps, ohms, oil and fuel gages. The dials themselves feature War Department ‘broad arrow’ markings and five dials remain powered. There are patches and screw holes present for various other controls not contained within the piece. Connected to the panel is an array of power fittings and a remote control box for operating lights and needle movement. The panel suffered slight wear from use and time spent in storage, however it remains in good production-used condition and measures approximately 74cm x 92cm x 27cm (29.25” x 36.25” x 10.75”).
