Edward Malus’ (Nicholas Cage) police helmet, gloves, sunglasses and crew paperwork collection from Neil LaBute’s 2006 mystery thriller The Wicker Man.
A sheriff investigating the disappearance of a young girl from a small island discovers there's a larger mystery to solve among the island's secretive, neo-pagan community.
Edward wore his police helmet, gloves and sunglasses in the opening scene when he pulled a car over to return a doll to a child passenger resulting in horrific consequences. The helmet is plastic and with a polystyrene interior and foam pads and it features Nicholas Cage’s autograph on the top. The gloves are leather with plastic ventilation zips and metal fasteners and the sunglasses are gold-coloured metal aviator style frames with dark green lenses. The crew paperwork consists of three photographs of Cage on set wearing the costume pieces, a collection of storyboards depicting the opening scene and a collection of call sheets and a map of the set. The items show minimal wear from production use, the helmet shows dirt and the metal coiled band across the visor is damaged, the fist pages of the storyboards are covered in dirt and creases and the crew paperwork as a hole shows dog eared pages and small tears. The items remain in an otherwise very good condition.
