A script bound in a blue binder from the production of Roger Spottiswoode’s 1983 thriller Under Fire.
Three journalists (Nick Nolte, Gene Hackman, Joanna Cassidy) in a romantic triangle are involved in political intrigue during the last days of the corrupt Somozoa regime in Nicaragua before it falls to a popular revolution in 1979.
This production used script has been bound in a blue hard cover with ‘UNDER FIRE, DIR: ROGER SPOTTISWOODE’ embossed on it in gold lettering. The screenwriter is credited as Ron Sheltonand and it is 131 pages long, not including the title page. The script has clearly been through several revisions, there are numerous asterisks denoting revision down the right hand margin and the script is a mix of yellow, white and blue coloured sheets of paper. The white sheets are evidently the original draft, while the blue pages were revised on 7/30 and the yellow pages are a draft from 8/8. and at the top of each page are notes saying ‘REVISED 8/8’, ‘REVISED 7/30’.
The script is unannotated throughout and, while this item shows some signs of wear from production use and storage, it remains in good condition.
