Troy

Trojan Ornate Shield

Stock #16377

An ornate shield used in Wolfgang Petersen's Iliad adaptation Troy. After falling for the beautiful Helen (Diane Kruger), Trojan prince Paris (Orlando Bloom) smuggles her aboard the ship of his brother, Hector (Eric Bana) to take her to Troy. Seeking revenge, the Greek armies led by Agamemnon (Brian Cox) and the legendary warrior Achilles (Brad Pitt) set sail for Troy, where one of history’s greatest wars will be waged.

This shield and others like it were used by the Trojan army during the massive battle scenes throughout the film. The shield is made from foam covered in canvas which has been painted cream and then distressed to look battle-worn. There is a boss in the centre which has been painted with a bronze effect and is surrounded by a blue painted eye. There is a wooden handle attached to the back for the actor to grip during fight scenes. Displaying signs of distressing and natural wear from use, the shield remains in good condition.
