Trojan Handmaiden Necklace

Stock #70801

”Imagine a king who fights his own battles. Wouldn't that be a sight.”

A Trojan handmaiden’s necklace from Wolfgang Petersen’s 2004 adaptation of Homer’s great epic Troy.

After falling for the beautiful Helen (Diane Kruger), Trojan prince Paris (Orlando Bloom) smuggles her aboard the ship of his brother, Hector (Eric Bana) to take her to Troy. Seeking revenge, the Greek armies led by Agamemnon (Brian Cox) and the legendary warrior Achilles (Brad Pitt) set sail for Troy, where one of history’s greatest wars will be waged.

Trojan handmaidens wore necklaces like this in the background of several scenes, notably when Hector (Eric Bana) and Paris (Orlando Bloom) spoke in scenes following Paris’ duel with Menelaus (Brendan Gleeson), where Hector killed Menelaus.

The necklace is made from brass-coloured metal and consists of small shield-like hemispheres intricately interlinked with large discs studded with small details and blue resin pieces painted to resemble precious stones. A row of small shield-shaped pendants hangs from the lower chain on chains of alternating lengths, each pendant decorated with subtle line and stippling detail.

Given a subtly worn appearance for the production, the necklace remains a beautiful piece and is in very good overall condition.

Materials: Ferrous Metals, Resin.
