A Trojan handmaiden head dress from the production of Wolfgang Petersen's 2004 adaptation of Homer's great epic Troy.
After falling for the beautiful Helen (Diane Kruger), Trojan prince Paris (Orlando Bloom) smuggles her aboard the ship of his brother, Hector (Eric Bana) to take her to Troy. Seeking revenge, the Greek armies led by Agamemnon (Brian Cox) and the legendary warrior Achilles (Brad Pitt) set sail for Troy, where one of history's greatest wars will be waged.
This head dress is made of numerous small metal pieces, painted gold and threaded between two metal bands. The hanging sections are studded with resin shapes, painted blue and lilac to simulate precious stones. The band that rests against the actor’s forehead is wrapped in cloth for greater comfort and the whole piece is secured with a fabric tie at the back of the head.
This piece displays some signs of production use and wear, particularly on the blue stones where paint has flaked off to display black resin beneath, but nonetheless it remains in overall good condition.
Materials: Ferrous Metals, Man Made Woven Fibres, Resin.
