A small prosthetic stump from the production of Wolfgang Petersen’s adaptation of Homer’s great epic Troy.
After falling for the beautiful Helen (Diane Kruger), Trojan prince Paris (Orlando Bloom) smuggles her aboard the ship of his brother, Hector (Eric Bana) to take her to Troy. Seeking revenge, the Greek armies led by Agamemnon (Brian Cox) and the legendary warrior Achilles (Brad Pitt) set sail for Troy, where one of history’s greatest wars will be waged.
This stump and others like it would have featured in one of the barbaric battle scenes and would have been used to portray a severed lower arm.
The stump is made from foam latex with a layer of silicone skin, painted to appear life like and displays hand-punched hair. Various red tones have been applied to the exposed section replicating the appearance of muscles and numerous adhered rubber strands acting as blood vessels and tendons protrude from the injured section. An interior piece of foam latex has the letter ‘B’ written in black pen.
Intentionally distressed to look gory, the piece displays minor wear to the silicone around the exposed section. However, in spite of this wear, the stump remains in very good condition.
Materials: Foam, Latex, Rubber, Man-Made Woven Fibres.
