These polaroids were used by the production for continuity and archive purposes and show the funeral pyre of Achilles’ cousin, Patroclus (Garrett Hedlund) after he is slain by Hector on the beaches of Troy. Four polaroids detail the pyre itself, showing Patroclus with the placement of coins on his eyes, and the arrangement of guards around the pyre. An additional reference photo shows blood on one of Achilles’ swords used by Patroclus in the battle on the beach.
Also included is a plastic coin featuring an icon of an archer, similar to those placed on Patroclus' eyes before his body was burned. Made to appear as though it was made in stamped gold, the coin has been finished in a metallic gold paint.
Offered in the original sleeve they were kept in during the production, the polaroids remain in a good production-used condition, with the sleeve measuring 30cm x 24cm (12” x 9.5”). The coin measures 3.5cm (1.5") in diameter.
