Troy

Helen's (Diane Kruger) Necklace

Stock #70802

A necklace worn by Helen (Diane Kruger) in Wolfgang Petersen’s adaptation of Homer’s great epic Troy. After falling for the beautiful Helen (Diane Kruger), Trojan prince Paris (Orlando Bloom) smuggles her aboard the ship of his brother, Hector (Eric Bana) to take her to Troy. Seeking revenge, the Greek armies led by Agamemnon (Brian Cox) and the legendary warrior Achilles (Brad Pitt) set sail for Troy, where one of history’s greatest wars will be waged.

Helen wears her elaborate necklace as she sits beside her husband King Menelaus of Sparta (Brendan Gleeson) in the banquet hall, celebrating with a feast after negotiating a peace treaty with honoured guests Prince Hector and Paris of Troy. The main section of the layered choker style necklace is made from cast-metal ‘plates’ attached together, creating a rounded shape. Segments of chain with various sized metal discs, transparent ‘gems’ and diamond shaped pendants hang from the top section, creating an elaborate appearance. The back of the necklace features a hook and chain allowing the necklace to be fixed to the wearer’s neck.

Signs of corrosion on the front and back of the metal are present all over and there is some wear to the brass finish on the metal, particularly on the pendants. However, in spite of this wear, the necklace remains in very good condition.
