A Greek shield from Wolfgang Petersen’s 2004 adaptation of Homer’s great epic Troy.
This shield and others like it were carried into battle by Greek soldiers. The shield is made of hard rubber, with a padded canvas interior and a wooden handle. The front is emblazoned with heraldic-looking symbols and has been finished in faux-gold.
This shield shows some signs of production use and wear, with some of the gold-coloured paint wearing away at the edges, but otherwise is remains in very good condition and is an impressive piece.
Materials: Rubber, Wood, Canvas, Man-Made Woven Fibres.
