Funeral Wreath Head Dress

Stock #70795

"You say you're willing to die for love but you know nothing about dying and you know nothing about love!"

A funeral wreath head dress from Wolfgang Petersen's 2004 adaptation of Homer's great epic Troy.

After falling for the beautiful Helen (Diane Kruger), Trojan prince Paris (Orlando Bloom) smuggles her aboard the ship of his brother, Hector (Eric Bana) to take her to Troy. Seeking revenge, the Greek armies led by Agamemnon (Brian Cox) and the legendary warrior Achilles (Brad Pitt) set sail for Troy, where one of history's greatest wars will be waged.

Two female singers wore wreaths like this at Hector's funeral after he was slain in a duel with Achilles.

The wreath is created around a thin wire frame tightly wrapped in black fabric. Branches of fake leaves are arranged and layered in a circlet – each has been painted black with a dull gold sheen and some of the base green colour left intact. The effect is as if real plants had been dried and used. The front features several small plastic berries or olives painted gold, and a dark gold fabric ribbon is tied at the back.

The item has been treated and distressed for production – there are some paint chips and bent leaves, but overall it remains in good production-used condition.

Materials: Ferrous Metals, Plastic, Woven Man-Made Fibres.
