Tripods, The (1984-1985)

The Countess' (Pamela Salem) Yellow Dress, Hat and Shoes

Stock #116513

"About a hundred years ago - not long - when the Tripods first appeared, they destroyed whole cities. Millions of people were killed or starved. And those that were left, the Tripods capped."

The Countess' (Pamela Salem) yellow dress, hat and shoes from the classic BBC sci-fi drama based on John Christopher’s book series, The Tripods (1984 – 1985).

The Earth has been conquered by an alien race known as the Masters, who patrol the land in giant Tripods. When humans reach the age of 16 they are ‘capped’, placing their minds under the control of the aliens. A group of young friends avoid being capped themselves, and go in search of a group of ‘free men’.

The Countess wore her costume in the first season of the show. It features a yellow dress which buckles up at the front with a golden-coloured metal buckle adorned with a faux gemstone. As the costume was made specially for Salem in the role it does not feature any size labelling. Each shoe appears to have ' 5 1/2 82' handwritten in pen on each sole.

The costume has some wear from production use and age, but overall it remains in an excellent condition.
