Tripods, The (1984-1985)

Julius' (Richard Wordsworth) Full Costume

Stock #116512

"About a hundred years ago - not long - when the Tripods first appeared, they destroyed whole cities. Millions of people were killed or starved. And those that were left, the Tripods capped."

Julius' (Richard Wordsworth) full costume from the classic BBC sci-fi drama based on John Christopher’s book series, The Tripods (1984 – 1985).

The Earth has been conquered by an alien race known as the Masters, who patrol the land in giant Tripods. When humans reach the age of 16 they are ‘capped’, placing their minds under the control of the aliens. A group of young friends avoid being capped themselves, and go in search of a group of ‘free men’.

Julius was the leader of the 'free men'. This costume consists of a brown jumpsuit, padded green waistcoat, grey woollen jumper, brown woollen finger-less gloves and a long green scarf/shawl. The costume was intentionally distressed for the production and although it has some additional wear from production use it remains in an excellent condition.

Materials: Ferrous Metals, Man-Made Woven Fibres, Plastic.
