A production-used large Saxon axe from Michael Bay’s 2017 action film Transformers: The Last Knight.
Humans are at war with the Transformers, and Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullan) is gone. The key to saving the future lies buried in the secrets of the past and the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Now, it's up to the unlikely alliance of inventor Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), Bumblebee (voiced by Erik Aadahl), an English lord (Anthony Hopkins) and an Oxford professor (Professor Vivian Wembley) to save the world.
This axe and others like it were made for the production and can be seen in the battle that opens the film, when King Arthur and his knights fought a losing battle against the Saxons in 484 AD. There is a front-on shot of a Saxon fighter holding his axes aloft. The handle is made of wood, with a leather grip and resin bone decorations tied to the shaft. The head is made of aluminium and painted to make it look like aged, battled-worn metal.
The item displays many signs of use; scratches to the handle and wear to the leather, but it is hard to discern if this is genuine wear or production-made. It remains in very good condition and is an impressive piece.
Materials: Wood, Leather, Resin, Ferrous Metals.
Item size - 29.53" x 11.81" x 2.36" (75cm x 30cm x 6cm)
