Captain Jack Harkness’ (John Barrowman) bloody shirt and T-shirt from in the BBC sci-fi adventure series Torchwood.
Set in the universe of Doctor Who, Torchwood tells the story of a group of alien investigators within the British government, headed up by the immortal Captain Jack Harkness and former Welsh police officer Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles), as they investigate extra-terrestrial threats to the planet Earth.
Captain Jack wore his shirt and T-shirt in the thirteenth episode of the second season, “Exit Wounds”, as he is buried alive by his vengeful brother Gray (Lachlan Nieboer) and his nemesis Captain John Hart (James Marsters). Taken back to 27AD, Jack is left buried for nearly two thousand years before being uncovered once again by the Victorian Torchwood institute.
This shirt and t-shirt were worn by Harkness after he is gunned down by John Hart, before coming back to life in Roman-occupied Cardiff. Both the shirt and T-shirt have been heavily distressed with bullet holes, fake blood stains and dirt applied liberally to the outside of both garments. The shirt has a white “Made In England” tag at the collar, while both garments have an attached BBC inventory tag internally. Originally rented for use in the production, the costume is also provided with its original costumier label and plastic cover.
Well-used on the production and distressed for use, the set remains in a good production-used condition, with no sizes marked.
Materials: Man-Made Woven Fibres.
