Ruth Dewitt Bukater's (Frances Fisher) vintage ecru silk coat and earrings worn in James Cameron's 1997 historical blockbuster film, Titanic. One of the film's primary antagonists, Ruth is the mother of Rose (Kate Winslet) and can be seen wearing this outfit as she attempts to avoid Margaret Brown (Kathy Bates) during her tea, and moments later when she is introduced to Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) during the 'spitting' scene.
This 1910 vintage coat is made of ecru silk with a floral leaf embroidery at the collar, cuffs, down the center front and back. The garment closes in the front with numerous hook-and-eye closures. Paired with the coat are Ruth's earrings, which are vintage faux pearl drops. Included with the costume is a wardrobe label that notes it's use for Ruth as played by Frances Fisher, and indicates that it was worn in scenes 70-72.
This lot shows minor wear due to use and age, but remains in overall spectacular condition.
