A box of ribbon-wrapped chocolates, casino buckets, newspapers, and other props from Joel and Ethan Coen's comedy remake The Ladykillers. Posing as a classical ensemble, "Professor" Goldthwaite Higginson Dorr (Tom Hanks) and his criminal gang attempt to rob a casino using the elderly widow Marva Munson’s (Irma P. Hall) root cellar as their access point. This collection of props are seen throughout the film.
In the film we see the churchgoers cooling themselves with a Jesus portraiture hand fan. Casino buckets are seen near the slot machines aboard the Bandit Queen in the background. To be rehired, Gawain MacSam (Marlon Wayans) offers his manager a box of ribbon-wrapped chocolates and an apology greeting card with a one-hundred-dollar bill inside. Lastly, after the casino is robbed and each member of the gang is killed off, we see the newspaper displaying its top story of the robbery.
The three casino buckets are made of plastic and feature the Bandit Queen Casino logo. The hand fan is made of glossy cardstock attached to a wooden craft stick and has some wear along the edge of the paper. Gawain’s apology card features the production-made hundred-dollar bill enclosed within. The box of chocolate includes a glossy red ribbon and displays a needlepoint design on top with flowers, birds, and waves. The set of eight newspapers are printed in black and white on newsprint and include minor discoloration from age and production use. The items show some wear from production use but remain in overall fair condition.
