A collection of storyboards from the production of Nick Castle’s 1986 fantasy film The Boy Who Could Fly.
The set comprises 68 sheets of thin paper displaying hand-drawn pencil storyboards showing various scenes from the film, including the dream sequence when Milly (Lucy Deakins) was visited by Eric (Jay Underwood) who took her hand and the two flew up into the clouds to watch a fireworks display. Many of the pages feature the stamp “©1985 Boss Film Corporation” the visual effects company founded by cinematographer Richard Edlund.
The storyboards display some creasing, folded corners and signs of discolouration, as well as some remnants of tape and pinholes where they were once pinned to a board. However, considering the age and use of the set, they remain in a very good condition.
