This is the danger ball from the 1995 comic book adaptation Tank Girl. Near the beginning of the film, just before her gang's hideout is attacked, Tank Girl (Lori Petty) gives this danger ball to Sam (Stacy Ramsower) who later uses it in Liquid Silver to get away from an evil man.
Made of plastic and resin, this ball is painted gold with silver designs around the side. Inside is a mechanism that causes plastic spikes to shoot out a few inches. The spikes are accessed by a small lever on the underside of the ball. There is also a red light that can be turned on by pressing a button on the other side of the sphere; however, a new battery is required before the light will work.
Additionally, this prop comes with a custom display stand featuring the movie's title which illuminates at the press of a button. The ball is in good condition with some wear due to production use (see photos).
