A ferret henchman puppet from John Henderson’s 2008 family film Tales of the Riverbank.
Tales of the Riverbank tells the story of three friends - Hammy Hamster (Ardal O’Hanlon), Roderick Rat (Steve Coogan) and GP the Guinea Pig (Jim Broadbent) - who, having swept down the river in a violent storm, embark on an epic journey.
The dastardly ferrets can be seen at various points in the movie getting up to no good. The puppets in the movie are constructed from faux fur over a ribbed rigid hollow frame that could accommodate a puppeteer access and full manoeuvrability, and fur covered foam latex hands, feet and facial features. At the end of each arm and leg are fixing points for the rods used to manipulate them, along with a zipper running along the full length of the tummy covered with poppers to hide the tell-tale seam that allowed the puppeteer access to the face and head controls. The brown and white rodent comes complete with a studded leather bracelet to add to his tiny gangster look.
The puppet shows minimal wear from production and light wear on the paws and fur from ageing, the puppet remains in an otherwise very good condition.
Materials: Faux Fur, Man-Made Woven Fibres, Ferrous Metals, latex.
