Tales Of The Riverbank

Betty Hamster Puppet

Stock #23370

“You’re a hamster aren’t you? I’ll talk slow.”

An original Betty Hamster puppet from John Henderson’s 2008 live-action remake of the 1960 classic TV show Tales of the Riverbank.

The film tells the story of 3 friends; Hammy Hamster (Ardal O’Hanlon), Roderick Rat (Steve Coogan) and GP (Jim Broadbent), who embark on an epic journey in search of their lost homes and to stop the Fat Cats destroying their Riverbank.

Betty is voiced by the comic actress Morwenna Banks and is loveable clairvoyant who joins the travelling circus and helps Hammy, Roderick and GP to thwart the Fat Cats in their devious plans.

Betty is made from faux fur, which is constructed over a rigid hollow ribbed frame. At the end of each of her arms and legs are fixing points for the rods used to manipulate them, along with a zippered tummy allowing the puppeteer access to her face and head controls. Betty also has a red gypsy-style headscarf complete with metal coin embellishments. She is in excellent condition and would make a charming collector’s piece for any fan of the film, or of puppets.
