Surrogate Leg Bones from the 2009 sci-fi action thriller, Surrogates. In the film, a cop (Bruce Willis) lives in a future where humans interact with each other using surrogate robots. When a series of user deaths occur, he must leave his home for the first time in years to solve their murders.
Surrogate leg bones can be found in the scene in which Greer (Bruce Willis) and Peters (Radha Mitchell) visit the engineering department of the VSI facility. This set of surrogate leg bones includes what would be a tibia, fibula, and femur from the human body. The bones are made with a thin outer casting of resin that is filled in with hardened foam. The outer shell is painted in a metallic grey finish accented with a gold colored plate, and touches of red.
This item measures approximately 22” x 3” x 2.5” (56cm x 8cm x 6.5cm) and has been repaired at the joint of the knee, but remains in overall good condition.
