Offered here is one of the most interesting crossover collectables related to Star Wars: an original COBOT, or Coca-Cola Robot advertising poster. In 1979 Coca-Cola basically took the R2-D2 robot design and repackaged it to resemble a can of Coca Cola for advertising and merchandising purposes, with this being one of the original posters from the campaign. When George Lucas was made aware of its existence his lawyers went to work to immediately to stop it being used and subsequently, the Coca-Cola Company cancelled the campaign and withdrew the toys and these promotional posters from circulation. It’s among the rarest of the early Star Wars-related posters out there, that also appeals as a Coca Cola collectable as well. Not many were ever distributed and only a handful have survived. This superb looking example has been conservation linen backed, making it much easier to display and handle.
