David Prowse-Autographed Storyboard - TIEs Bomb The Asteroid (A40)

Stock #77291

A signed, framed, storyboard copy used in the production of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. This page features two illustrations of Imperial TIE Fighters bombing the asteroid that Han hides the Millennium Falcon on. The storyboard is signed by visual effects supervisor Brian Johnson, who would go on to win an Oscar for his contribution to the film, and Dave Prowse who played Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy. It is also stamped “BRIAN JOHNSON - SPECIAL/VISUAL FX – ELSTREE STUDIOS/ILM SAN RAFAEL”. The production used copy has a printed description beneath the illustration reading, “EXT. ASTEROID CRATER SURFACE – SPACE / FULL SHOT – Looking down on two medium-sized Imperial cruisers moving across the surface, dropping powerful bombs which create powerful shock waves centered around blue explosions. The ships move over the crater in which the Millennium Falcon is hiding. A faint ball of light emerges from the crater.” It is scene numbered ‘288’, shot numbered ‘A40’ and is page number ‘287’. Printed on light blue US Legal-sized paper, the page is hole-punched at the top, indicating that it would have been held together in sequence with the rest of the storyboard pages. It comes framed in a custom built display with laser-cut mount board etched with the iconic movie title.
