Stock #73987

A signed special 'triple' original production used storyboard copy from the first three 'original' movies in the epic George Lucas saga, Star Wars. These stunning storyboards came from a complete set created for the visual effects sequences, which included everything from miniature ships in the sky to the rotoscopic effects of lasers firing from the Death Star’s gun turrets. This is the first time any visual effects storyboards from this movie have been available to public market, and offers a truly fantastic and rare insight into the making of the movie at such an early stage of the production.

These pages begin with 'A New Hope' and depicts a close up of Wedge Antilles in the cockpit of his X-Wing fighter. The storyboard is labelled as part of the “Luke” sequence and as shot “405 AP”. This storyboard is printed on a sheet of peach-coloured paper and is hole punched at the bottom from where it was grouped in sequence, forming a comprehensive shot by shot miniature version of the movie’s spectacular and ground breaking effects. This storyboard has also been signed by the legendary veteran producer Robert Watts who also produced the Indiana Jones trilogy and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

The second storyboard, from 'The Empire Strikes Back' features an image of a comet coming down and hitting the ground on the planet Hoth. The storyboard has a printed description beneath the illustration, marked as for the “Opening” sequence and numbered OP 6, and is printed on cream US Legal-sized paper. The storyboard is signed by visual effects supervisor Brian Johnson, who would go on to win an Oscar for his contribution to the film.

The final shot in this amazing display is from Return of the Jedi and features an image of Ewoks cutting which causes a pile of logs to fall. The information on the page includes which sequence it was involved in, the shot number, sequence and a brief printed description underneath. The storyboard is printed on a sheet of green-coloured paper.
