Star Wars - Ep IV - A New Hope

"The Star Wars" Joe Johnston Signed Printed Production Storyboard - Board 27A

Stock #57869

A signed production storyboard from George Lucas' 1977 sci-fi classic, Star Wars! This framed original production copy was drawn by visual effects art director Joe Johnston in 1975 when the film was originally known as "The Star Wars", and was then distributed to the various department heads during pre-production. Printed on a specialty copy machine for deep blacks and bright whites, this storyboard exhibits premium quality image quality. As a result, subsequent board imagery did not match the quality of these extremely early boards. This storyboard shows the cockpit of an early version of the Millennium Falcon flying through the "Cloud Sea" towards a floating complex. In early drafts of the script, this complex served as an Imperial prison, and the design was later scrapped and used for Cloud City on the planet Bespin in The Empire Strikes Back. The storyboard is noted "Board 27A" and "Cloud Sea B.G." The storyboard has been signed in person by the original artist, Joe Johnston.

The storyboard comes beautifully presented in a custom built frame with laser-cut mount board featuring the classic movie title. The display is in excellent condition.
