Star Wars - Ep IV - A New Hope
Stuart Freeborn Eye Mech Design Sketch
Stock #50480
A creature eye mechanism design used in the production of George Lucas’ Star Wars Episode IV – A New Hope. This drawing depicts an experimental eye mechanism for an unidentified creature in the production.
Drawn by creature effects artist Stuart Freeborn, the artwork shows a pair of eyes controlled using solenoids and magnetic plates – a style of movement previously unseen at the time of production. The sketches have been drawn on white paper in blue ink and the rear of the page features evidence of word games being played during the production.
Well-used on the production, the paper shows signs of folding with some minor tears at the edge. However, in spite of this wear, the design remains in overall good condition.
Materials: Paper.
