'Not a bad bit of rescuing, huh? You know, sometimes I amaze even myself'

An original production-used storyboard from the first movie in the epic George Lucas saga, Star Wars - Episode IV: A New Hope.

This storyboard came from a complete set created for the visual effects sequences, which included everything from miniature ships in the sky to the rotoscopic effects of lasers firing from the Death Star's gun turrets.

This storyboard shows The Millennium Falcon in the distance after escaping the desert planet Tatooine, pursued by an Imperial starship. Beneath the image are the words, 'Pirate ship away followed by Imperial ship. Laser. Use Imperial ship shot for 101- flopped.

The storyboard is labelled as part of the 'Tat Escape' sequence and as shot '114 C'. It is printed on a sheet of yellow-coloured paper and is hole punched at the bottom from where it was grouped in sequence, forming a comprehensive shot by shot miniature version of the movie's spectacular and ground-breaking effects.

The storyboard comes beautifully presented in a laser-cut mount board featuring the classic movie title. The piece remains in excellent condition.
