Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

Walter Koenig Credits Autograph Sheet Display

Stock #58462

A set of autographs used in the production of the sixth entry in the original Star Trek series, Star Trek VI: Undiscovered Country. Peace has finally been achieved between the Klingon Empire and the Federation, but an assassination sees Kirk (William Shatner) and McCoy (DeForest Kelley) exiled to a penal colony. Can Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and the crew of the Enterprise solve the murder, or will war once again come to Federation space?

These autographs and others like them were used for the creation of the film’s unique credits sequence, in which each actor’s autograph appeared on screen rather than using a standard font. This card sheet formed part of a larger set, with the final autograph selected for the sequence removed for scanning. Interestingly, Koenig's distinctive two-level autograph had to be changed to match that of the others seen on screen, so the autograph seen in the credits is not authentic to Koenig's standard autograph style.

These autographs, still on the original lined card board showing the size boundaries for scanning, were some of the rejected autographs created by Koenig for use in the sequence. The autographs are written on white card in black marker. The autographs remain in very good condition.

The piece is presented in a custom framed display featuring the film’s title artwork and a still featuring Kirk and his crew on the bridge of the Enterprise.
