A crew jacket from Jonathan Demme’s horror thriller The Silence of the Lambs.
Young FBI trainee Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) is assigned to try and find a missing woman and save her from the serial killer known as 'Buffalo Bill'. Clarice is sent to Baltimore to interview serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) to try and gain insight into the case.
This jacket and others like it would have been gifted to members of the crew working on the production. The unique garment is made from light brown suede with a decorative brown ribbed knitted neckline and waistband. A zip runs down the front of the jacket and the text 'The Silence Of The Lambs' is embroidered in red on the left breast. The back of the piece features an image of a death’s-head hawkmoth embroidered in yellow, orange, red, black, white and brown, with a skull-like marking on its back.
Marked as a size 'Large', the jacket displays minor plucks in the embroidery and a stain is present under the embroidery on the front of the garment. However, in spite of this wear, the jacket remains in very good condition.
