An SFX knuckle duster knife from the production of Guy Ritchie’s 2011 crime adventure: Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

When Austria's crown prince is found dead, evidence seems to point to suicide. However, detective Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) deduces that the prince was murdered and that the crime is but a piece of a puzzle designed by an evil genius named Moriarty (Jared Harris). Holmes and his friend Dr. Watson (Jude Law), who are accompanied by a gypsy, Madam Simza (Noomi Rapace), whose life Holmes saved, chase Moriarty across Europe in the hope that they can thwart his plot before it can come to fruition.

This knife was wielded near the beginning of the film by one of Irene Adler’s (Rachel McAdams) thug bodyguards who attacked Sherlock, temporarily preventing him from retrieving a package which contained a hidden bomb. Made of rubber with a metal armature, the knife is in two parts, having been intentionally split in two on the production. The handle section could be used on set to make it appear that the knife has plunged into flesh. The blade has several small sections of orange tape attached to it, used for tracking.

The knife has some wear from production use and age. The paint has worn away in places, most notably on the handle. The blade was not split in two cleanly, leaving a jagged edge and some cracking in the rubber. Overall it remains in a fair production-used condition.
