Sherlock Holmes (2009)

Sacrificial Ram's Head Dagger

Stock #55396

A dagger used in the production of the Victorian detective film Sherlock Holmes. After preventing a sacrificial murder by Lord Blackwood (Mark Strong), who is subsequently executed, detective Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr) and Dr John Watson (Jude Law) are called upon to investigate a series of occult murders related to a resurrected Blackwood, the Masons and the mysterious Professor Moriarty.

This dagger can be seen being wielded by the hypnotised girl being murdered by Lord Blackwood in the bowels of a London house, stopped in the nick of time by Holmes. Made of rubber, the ceremonial blade features a head intended to replicate the appearance of carved wood, a carved ram’s head, while the long, thin blade protrudes from its base. The paint finish is of blackened steel and faux-bronze, giving the weapon an ethereal, mystical appearance that plays to Lord Blackwood’s strengths as an illusionist.

Featuring only minimal wear from use on the production, the dagger remains in a very good production-used condition.
